Default Text Formatting in InDesign CS6

When creating a text box in InDesign, you may have noticed it usually comes up with the same default font type, size, and color. Save yourself the repetitive step of formatting every new text box by changing the default settings.

1. Open InDesign. You should see the screen below, prompting you to open a recent item, or create a new document, book, or library
2. Before opening a new file, click on the Type Tool
3. Using the toolbar at the top, change font type, size, and other formatting controls
4. When done, open a new document

Now, every text box you create will have the default text formatting you selected before opening the new project!
